Is the app free? Do I need an account?
Yes — MatchDay 26 is free and works with no account and no sign-up. Live scores, fixtures, standings, the bracket, stadiums, weather, teams and anthems are all available the moment you open the app.
What is the optional API key for?
Everything works without a key. Adding a free API-Football key in Settings unlocks one extra feature: 0–10 player match ratings. You can get a free key at dashboard.api-football.com and paste it in Settings → it is stored only on your device (in the iOS Keychain) and is never sent to us.
Why are some scores or details delayed or missing?
Live match data comes from third-party sports providers. Scores usually update within a minute or two, but occasionally a fixture, lineup or stat may lag or be incomplete. Pull down to refresh, or check back shortly.
Where do the stadium photos, 3D view and weather come from?
Stadium photography and descriptions come from a sports database; the 3D flyover uses Apple Maps satellite imagery; live temperature, wind and humidity come from Open-Meteo. No location permission is needed — weather is shown for each fixed stadium.
The match lineup only shows a few players — why?
For some fixtures the data provider only publishes key players rather than the full XI. In that case the app supplements the view with each team's full squad. When complete lineups are available (or you add the optional key), the full formation is shown on a pitch.
How do anthems and songs play?
Tap any anthem or tournament song to play it inside the app — you stay in MatchDay 26 the whole time and tap the close button to return.
Does the app collect my data?
No. MatchDay 26 does not collect personal data, has no accounts, no analytics and no ads. See our Privacy Policy for details.
