Coin & Banknote Identifier

No accounts · No tracking · No ads

CoinScan ("the App") identifies coins and banknotes from a photo using AI. This policy explains what data we handle, what we do with it, and what we don't. We do not sell your data. We do not run advertising trackers. We do not require an account.

1. Photos & Camera

To identify a coin, you photograph it or pick an image from your library. The image is sent to our AI provider (see §3) for identification only. We do not store your photos on our servers. Camera and photo-library access are used solely so you can capture/select images for identification.

2. On-Device Storage

The following lives only on your iPhone — never on our servers:

Scan history: a local record of past identifications (last 5 on Free, unlimited on Pro).
Settings & usage counter: the free-tier daily limit (3 scans / 24 h) is tracked locally.

Deleting the App removes all of this from your device.

3. Third-Party Services

Google Gemini AI (Gemini 2.5 Flash-Lite Vision) — receives the coin/banknote image and returns identification data (country, year, denomination, mint, rarity, estimated value). We do not transmit personally identifying information alongside the image. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Supabase Edge Functions — securely relays our API credentials to authorized app clients. No user data passes through this layer. See Supabase Privacy.
Apple StoreKit — handles optional CoinScan Pro subscriptions. We never see your Apple ID, email, or payment details. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

4. Subscriptions & Purchases

CoinScan Pro is an auto-renewable subscription processed by Apple. We do not store payment information. Manage or cancel in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.

5. Analytics & Diagnostics

No third-party analytics, no advertising SDKs, no tracking pixels. Crash diagnostics use Apple's standard opt-in mechanism — disable in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

6. Children's Privacy

CoinScan is rated 4+ and contains no objectionable content. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Your Rights

Delete the App to remove all local data.
Manage your subscription in iOS Settings → Subscriptions.
Contact us (see §9) to ask about data we hold.

8. Changes to This Policy

Significant changes will be noted with a revised effective date at the top of this page.
